Making every quilt come to life
Preparing your quilt
Trim all loose threads from the top of your quilt, these catch in the machine.
​
Press your quilt well, particularly any very bulky seams (open and flatten these as much as possible).
​
Sew your backing into one piece and square it off. If you have joined your backing, trim any selvedges from the seam and press open.
​
Your backing and wadding need to be at least eight inches longer and wider than the quilt top. If your backing is larger than this, you do not need to trim it down. Should the backing not be large enough, we will attach additional fabric for which a charge will be made.

You do not need to baste your quilt.
​
If your quilt has many seams on the outside edge, please run a line of stitches around the quilt 1/8 inch from the edge. This prevents the seams from opening.
